As many of you know, the Wine Bloggers’ Conference is happening again this year. Taste Camp East (couldn’t find an exact link or details for it) is also happening this year. And I want to go to both.
This year, I’m diving head first into blogging and wine, and I really want to be immersed in it. I’d also love to travel more, so what better way than to do all three of those things at the same time. I know. It’s probably going to be hectic with all of this stuff going on, but I’m betting it’s also going to be amazingly fun.
I’m currently second on the waiting list for Taste Camp East which is scheduled for the first weekend in May. That doesn’t guarantee me a spot, but I definitely think it’s totally possible to still be able to get in. Taste Camp East is going to be strikingly different than WBC because there’s much fewer people allowed and I can drive there. I think the max capacity is 30 people so it would be a much more personal experience up there in the Finger Lakes. Yeah, it’s going to involve a lot of good wine, but a lot of cool people, too.
And WBC is going to be massive with 300 attendants in late June. It’s also going to be held way further West than I’ve even been in my life. I’ve been to Europe, but I’ve never been past the Mississippi so I’m pretty excited. But that’s not a guarantee yet, either. I applied for a WBC scholarship and if there aren’t enough funds to go around, I won’t be able to get there.
I can afford a drive out to the Finger Lakes for a long weekend if I keep saving my pennies but I can’t fund a trip across the country on my own. Boston to Seattle to Walla Walla is a long road to travel.
If you want to help me get to Walla Walla, please donate to the WBC scholarship. It wouldn’t help just me. It would help everyone that needs a little financial assistance to get there. I won’t be offended if you don’t donate, but it’s a helpful tool if you want to help me out
As we get closer to the events this summer, I’ll let you know how it’s going and if I’m 100% sure that I’m going to either one (or both). If you’re reading this and you’re going to be at either one, let me know! I want to meet as many as my awesome wine blogger friends as possible this summer.
