I’m super, super excited to announce that Boston has a location set up for the #PinotNoir twitter tasting taking place all over the country (via Twitter) on July 15th. (FYI, the wine list (below) is a little ridiculous.) While I was at WBC this past weekend, Joe of Suburban Wino encouraged me to set up an event so I did just that. This is the very first event that I am helping to put on and co-host and I’m ridiculously excited. The best part is that I’m not the only one who’s excited.

The event is taking place at The Urban Grape, located in Chestnut Hill, and I think they’re just as thrilled to host the event at their store as I am. I thought of them because last month, they opened their brand-spanking-new store with a very unique setup and invited me and many other Boston area folks to come by and check it out. All of their wines are arranged by body weight, so the whites are arranged from lightest to heaviest and further on down the wall, the reds are arranged the same way. They have an Enomatic machine pouring wines that’s also arranged the same way to help customers get their bearings. This is in an effort to encourage new (or old) drinkers to explore similar styles of wines without the intimidation factor. Restaurants have been arranging wine lists this way for a long time and they decided it was time for a shop to do it, too. Cool concept, right?

Anyway, back to the actual event. They’re going to open up five different bottles of pinot noir for us to taste so if you love wine and use Twitter, come by and hang out.

Nice list- I've heard that Sean Minor is a good one for the money. Also, I've never had Calera before- would love to try that sometime. Cheers-
